Allyna E. Ward is in the final stages of her PhD in sixteenth-century tragedy at the University of Newcastle.  She is particularly interested in the effects of
the Protestant Reformation on Renaissance literature and how thinking about tragedy changed with religious reform.  Her thesis examines mirrors
of Hell in A Mirror for Magistrates, five early Elizabethan tragedies, Richard Robinson’s The Rewarde of Wickedness, Thomas Kyd’s The Spanish
