James J. Balakier teaches in the English Department at the University of South Dakota.  He has published criticism in English Studies, Studia Mystica, English Language Notes, Bulletin de la Société d'Etudes Anglo-Americaines des XVII^e et XVIII^e Siècles, Papers on Language and Literature, Milton Quarterly, The Canadian Journal of Irish Studies and other journals.  He has co-authored with his wife Ann Stewart Balakier The Spatial Infinite at Greenwich in Works by Christopher Wren, James Thornhill and James Thomson: The Newton Connection.
