Terry Fairchild received his BA from the University of Nevada in 1975, his MA from the University of Utah in 1983, and his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in 1990. He has been an Assistant Professor of Literature at Maharishi University of Management (formerly Maharishi International University) since 1990 and is currently serving as the department's Associate Chair. His primary areas of interest are modern and contemporary literature, drama, and critical theory. Dr. Fairchild has published articles on Frank Waters and T.S. Eliot and has presented conference papers on Waters, Eliot, Bernard Malamud, Nabokov, Toni Morrison, Thomas Pynchon, and Post-Modernism. He has currently written articles on Thomas Pynchon, Infinite Correlation in Crying of Lot 49 and Sophocles, Oedipus Rex: Sins of the Fathers, and with Susan Setzer is preparing a literature textbook, tentatively entitled: Literature and Literary Theory in the Direction of Vedic Literature. Professor Fairchild also serves as the Executive Editor of Modern Science and Vedic Science, an academic journal dedicated to connecting the modern knowledge of the West to the traditional knowledge of the Veda and Vedic Literature.
