Michael Grosso studied classics, and took his PhD in philosophy from Columbia University.  He has taught philosophy and the humanities at universities in California, New York, and New Jersey.  Presently affiliated with the Division of Perceptual Studies (DOPS) at the University of Virginia, he does research in mediumship, automatisms, and other unusual states of consciousness.  He is on the Board of Directors of the American Philosophical Practitioner's Association. An author and painter (see michaelgrosso.net ), Michael has recently taken up playwrighting.
