Christopher
Norris is Distinguished Research Professor in Philosophy at Cardiff
University,
Wales. He has published more than twenty books to date on various aspects of
philosophy, the
history of ideas, and critical theory. At present he is writing mainly about
issues in
philosophical semantics and philosophy of science, with particular reference to
areas of shared
concern between the so-called 'analytic' and 'continental' lines of descent. His
latest books are
Truth Matters: realism, anti-realism and response-dependence (2002), Hilary
Putnam:
realism, reason, and the uses of uncertainty (2002), Philosophy of Language and
the
Challenge to Scientific Realism (2004), and Language, Logic and Epistemology: a
modal-realist approach (2004).
