Dr. Jennifer Pierce is a scholar of consciousness studies and performance studies and a theatre artist, curator, and dramaturg. Her work has appeared in Richard Schechner’s TDR, in this journal, and volumes published by Routledge and Cambridge Scholars Press. She is currently working on a multi-media installation inspired by Mary Shelley’s monster that equates the monster’s experience of regaining consciousness, memory, and language, with our coming to new consciousness in the digital media revolution. She is also working on a manuscript on neurophenomenology and performance studies. She is also co-author of three children and curator of a dog named Mabel.
