Alison Scott-Baumann works in the School of
Education at the University of Gloucestershire. She teaches educational theory
and practice, psychology, philosophy and ethics, and works on interfaith, cross
cultural themes. She lectures on these subjects in India, Africa and Europe. As
a modern linguist, she still enjoys Brecht and uses drama in her teaching. She is
particularly interested in the French hermeneuticist Paul Ricoeur, and in the
ways in which philosophy can be applied to live projects, as with her work with
the British Muslim community.
