Karla Shacklock gained a 1st class BA(Hons) degree and PhD in Dance at Bretton Hall, University of Leeds, and is also trained in Bodyweather, Butoh and trapeze. Karla held a senior lecturer post at Bath Spa University for five years, has been associate artist at various UK arts organisations and is a published writer. Formerly Co-Artistic Director, choreographer and performer for multi award-winning physical theatre and multimedia company Precarious, Karla has also toured internationally with Stuart Lynch, Willi Dormer, Marie-Gabrielle Rotie, Mimbre and Fleur Darkin Dance Company. Karla is currently engaged in 'Going Beyond' - an Arts Council funded research project exploring performance consciousness.
