Nicole Szendy was born in the West Indies in 1939 and she spent her childhood in France and Morocco. After studying languages in the Sorbonne in Paris, she worked as a teacher of English until 1998. While teaching, she started writing poetry and her works were published in several books: La plume et les ailes (1992), L'Art pour Lire (1996), and L'Arbre des Esprits Magiques (1999). Since 1984 she has participated in different international conferences: in Baden-Baden, Namur, Jerusalem and Bergen. Now she devotes herself to poetry.
