Linda Turner, PhD (Memorial University of Newfoundland), MSW (Universitй de Moncton), M.Ed., (University of New Brunswick). I teach courses in Social Work and Social Welfare at St. Thomas University, a small liberal arts university in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. I am also Coordinator of the Field Education Program for the Department of Social Work. My doctoral research was on the subject of creativity in social work practice. This article reflects an interest in exploring how genealogy can provide opportunities to university students for deeper reflection and a stronger identification with course content. I can be reached at LTurner@StThomasU.ca.
