Frederick R. Worth holds a Ph.D. in Romance Languages and Literatures from Harvard University.  He completed his B.A. at Haverford College and M.A. at the University of Pittsburgh.  Early in his career he taught at Boston University and UNC-Asheville.  He subsequently joined the Spanish Department at Randolph-Macon College, in Virginia, where he now enjoys “Emeritus” status.  He has published and presented widely on poets from the early Spanish juglares to Lorca and from Juan de la Cruz to Neruda, Paz, and Villanueva.  Recent teaching and research interests include borderlands cultures of the American Southwest and Native American literature.
